History and Mission

The Deafblind Services Society of B.C. was established in 1986 by families determined to find essential services and housing for their Deafblind children.  Today we provide both residential and community inclusion services throughout B.C. to deafblind individuals. We believe that every person who is deafblind should have access to the world around them. With effective communication available to them, Deafblind individuals can engage with their community, make choices, and increase their independence. We believe every deafblind person deserves dignity, respect, inclusion, freedom of choice and a safe and welcoming environment.
