"Celebrating our 20th
"I don't need to look to see. “The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched. They must be felt within the heart.” Helen Keller
To achieve our vision of Lives of Meaning for deafblind individuals, we provide one-to-one intervention, community living, support and advocacy. We believe in and adhere to client centered programming.
For more than 20 years, the Deafblind Services Society of BC has provided critical support to individuals with deafblindness to help them participate and interact meaningfully in their communities. Goals and programming are developed based on each individuals interests, wants and needs. Our proactive staff and board, join with families, friends, and other community services to provide the best quality of life we can for each person we work with.
We provide many options for our intervention services. We offer 24 hour residential services for some clients; day programs and/or social and recreation programs for others. Through our outreach service model, intervention can be provided from the family home, in a home with a roommate, or in a home provided by the Deafblind Services Society. We provide transition from youth to adult services, outreach and education, and advocacy and support.
